Our Mission

We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

Jered Day

Senior Pastor

As the Senior Pastor Jered has led Fbc Lloyd since 2017.  Jered’s passion is to see people who don’t know Jesus to meet Jesus personally, and for those who do know Him personally, to live for Him daily and help others to live for Him everyday.

Jered was called to preach at the age of 18 and has filled many roles in various churches, including serving as a Youth Minister, College Minister, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor.   He was the Campus Minister for Gordon State College in Georgia for five years as well.   “My favorite parts of my calling are helping people, whether from the pulpit or from the counseling time we share together.   My hope is that after spending time with people they will leave encouraged to live closer to Jesus every time.”

Jered met his wife Jennifer in college and has been married since 2000, and they have two boys, Ethan and Isaac.  As a family they enjoy board games, movies, theme parks and making many more memories. pastor.fbclloyd@gmail.com

Education Minister

John grew up attending Southern Baptist churches and came to know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior at age 16. John obtained a BA in Christian Education from Gulf Shore Christian College and a BA in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University. John and his wife, Betty, began their family, Kate and James, in Pennsylvania but then moved to Florida for a teaching job at Heartland Christian School in Sebring, Florida.

That was followed by jobs at Berean Christian School, Summit Christian School, and Atlantic Christian Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida. After 20+ years of teaching, John and Betty retired to north Florida to be nearer to family (and start a hobby farm), and that move included joining the church family here at Lloyd where he has served as the Education Minister since 2019. frizzell66@gmail.com

Why We Believe A Christian Should Be Part Of A Local Church

Why We Believe A Christian Should Be Part Of A Local Church

1. Fellowship

Being part of a local church allows a Christian to become part of a church family—a community of brothers and sisters in Christ who share true concern for one another.

Paul described this kind of fellowship in his letter to the Corinthians when he says:

“If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together” (1 Corinthians 12:26).

When we care for our fellow Christians in this way, not only do we enjoy the security of belonging to a spiritual family, but we glorify God by revealing His character to the world.

3. Personal growth

Just as individual Bible study and prayer are vital to a Christian’s spiritual growth, so is consistent contact with other Christians.

Meeting regularly with other Christians is an opportunity to be encouraged in our daily walk with Christ, to receive godly advice in areas of difficulty in our life, and to be challenged by the example of more mature Christians.

2. Corporate worship

When God rescued King David from his enemies, David couldn’t keep his praise to himself. He cried out in Psalm 34:3,

“Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.Even Christ, in the darkest hours of His life, asked three of His closest friends to “watch and pray” with Him (Matthew 26:41).

While private devotion pleases God, at times nothing will do except to join with fellow Christians in praise of our great God. God is glorified when Christians speak of His greatness with each other.

4. Ministry

In Ephesians 4:11-12, Paul tells us that God gave“the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”

Being part of a local church allows us to receive the instruction of trained pastors and teachers, helping us minister both to the world and within the church.
